Nakisa Samarghandi

Nakisa is a registered clinical counsellor and a member of the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). She holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology and has over 20 years of hands-on experience in therapeutic and clinical settings.
As an immigrant, Nakisa brings a unique perspective to her counselling practice, enabling her to offer compassionate support to individuals navigating challenging life transitions, including anxiety, depression, and grief.
She is dedicated to empowering clients to address trauma, drawing from her training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Nakisa believes in the importance of patience and adaptability when working with youth, striving to meet their diverse needs through clear and effective communication, empathy, and active listening.
She conducts thorough assessments to understand the mental health concerns, emotional struggles, behavioural patterns, and family dynamics of children, adolescents, and youths. Nakisa’s expertise in family counselling helps improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen family relationships.
In her therapeutic approach, Nakisa utilizes a variety of modalities tailored to each client’s unique needs and values. Nakisa’s areas of practice include anxiety, depression, grief, anger management, women’s concerns, relationship issues, self-confidence, assertiveness, trauma, life transitions, PTSD, adjustment and adaptation, divorce and separation, isolation, social anxiety, ADHD, school difficulties, and work-related challenges.
Nakisa provides counselling in English and Farsi and is available in person and online.
