Catalyst Virtue

Catalyst Mind Center is a place where we aim to help young people develop the skills, values, and character traits they need to become responsible, compassionate, and successful adults.

Our Virtue Youth Programs promote character development, leadership skills, and positive values in young people through activities that promote character development and leadership, such as team-building exercises, service projects, and leadership training. Virtue youth programs can take many forms, including after-school programs, camps, mentoring programs, and community service team projects. Through these opportunities, participants can develop virtues such as honesty, responsibility, respect, empathy, and compassion, which are essential for personal growth and success.

About The Program

Our Virtue Youth Programs are for children who like to explore new self-exploration and empowerment programs. Classes are chosen according to a learner’s individual interests and passions. These are small classes, with a maximum of 5 to 8 individuals in each class – just enough to enable active participation and learning chances for all individuals while allowing everyone to participate and take an active role in their learning.

Admission

Admission is based on child and parent interviews and the child’s general interests. Through our interview process, we will assess your child’s ability to work collaboratively with others, their enthusiasm for learning, and their aptitude for teamwork, which is encouraged.

Important points to be considered:

  • Virtue group class ages are 9 to 12 or 13 to 15.
  • The start of the classes is based on the number of registered learners for each program.
  • Please note that due to the small class sizes and limited resources, we regret to inform you that our staff are not equipped to support severe behavioural needs nor tolerate any bullying at our center.

Our sessions offer a safe space for self-expression, allowing youth to explore their inner artist and discover the profound benefits of creative exploration. Critical Thinking / Problem Solving

Our critical thinking program is designed to teach children how to think and reason logically, analyze, evaluate arguments, and make sound decisions based on evidence and reasoned judgment. Learners will develop the skills they need to become better thinkers, problem-solvers, and decision-makers and succeed in their academic and professional careers. Participants will learn skills and strategies to solve problems effectively. They cover a wide range of topics and skills related to critical thinking, decision-making, logical reasoning, creativity, and analysis.

Debate & Assertiveness

Our debate classes aim to improve learners’ critical thinking and communication skills while boosting their confidence and encouraging teamwork. They will learn how to research and form their own opinions on various topics and how to effectively present and defend their viewpoints in a debate setting. They also learn how to listen and respond to opposing conversations, use evidence and persuasive techniques to support their claims, and communicate assertively in a positive manner.

Executive Functioning

Our Virtue Executive function classes are designed to help improve the skills related to planning, organizing, and completing tasks. They will learn strategies to manage their time better, prioritize their work, set goals, self-monitor, and self-regulate. These classes also strengthen working memory, attention, and cognitive flexibility.

As a result, they can be more efficient and effective learners by enhancing their ability to focus, switch between tasks, inhibit impulses, and work towards their long-term goals. These classes are conducted by our trained professionals and may include individual or group sessions depending on the learners’ needs.

Public Speaking & Presentation

Our Public Speaking and Presentation classes equip children with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to effectively communicate in front of an audience. The classes typically cover topics such as speech writing, delivery skills, vocal and body language, use of visual aids, and handling nervousness. These skills are particularly important for learners as they navigate academic, professional, and personal situations where they need to present and articulate their ideas effectively. The classes also provide opportunities to practice skills through classroom presentations, discussions, group exercises, and coaching. Overall, the goal of these classes is to help learners develop strong communication skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.

Social Emotional Classes

This program helps children build confidence, self-awareness and compassion. We introduce strategies to enhance overall emotional well-being by using simple tools and doing fun activities. Come dressed to move and participate in art activities. Each participant will receive a mini kit with affirmation cards and other tools to use at home.

Time Management

Our time management program is designed to help learners manage their time effectively so they can balance their academic, personal, and professional commitments and become more efficient and productive while reducing stress and improving their overall well-being.

Our program teaches skills related to goal setting, prioritization, planning, and delegation.

The program also includes practical exercises and techniques to help apply the concepts to ones own lives.
