Catalyst Youth Psychotherapy
(6 and Above)
Through our professional registered psychotherapists and psychologists, we offer a range of services to support the mental health and well-being of young people.
Our psychotherapists offer academic support, career counselling, and other resources to help young people succeed in school and beyond. They can also serve as a supportive community of peers and mentors who can offer guidance and encouragement as young people navigate the challenges of growing up.
Our services are designed to help young people overcome anxiety, build resilience, and develop coping skills based on their individual needs.

Individual Therapy
With individual therapy, we offer one-on-one sessions, in-person and online, where our psychotherapist tailors their approach to address the child’s specific needs, concerns, and emotional growth with personalized attention and support to help children work through their challenges.
Group Therapy
Group therapy provides a supportive setting where children interact with peers facing similar challenges in small groups. Under our psychotherapist’s guidance, children engage in group discussions and activities that promote social skills, empathy, and emotional development.
Our Youth Psychotherapy Services
(Services available individually or in a group setting)
Our psychotherapists create a safe and supportive environment for children to explore and express their feelings and concerns related to significant life changes or transitions.
They help children understand and cope with the emotions associated with these changes, provide strategies to manage stress, and foster resilience to adapt positively to new situations.
By promoting a growth mindset, children learn to view challenges as stepping stones for learning and development, fostering resilience and adaptability.
Psychotherapy for anxiety in children focuses on helping them manage excessive worry, fear, and phobias. Our therapists use age-appropriate techniques like play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and relaxation exercises to identify and challenge anxious thoughts, regulate emotions, and develop coping skills for anxiety reduction.
Our psychotherapists work with children to improve communication skills, self-confidence, and the ability to express themselves effectively. We help children develop a belief in their ability to express themselves confidently and respectfully. Children learn to challenge beliefs that hinder assertiveness, such as fear of rejection or conflict. Through role-playing, social skills training, and positive reinforcement, they learn to assert their needs and boundaries while respecting others and to develop a mindset of self-assertion which recognizes their right to voice their needs and opinions.
Our psychotherapists focus on and address the emotional struggles of children experiencing low mood, more specifically during their teenage years. They aim to change children’s negative mindsets and distorted views of themselves and their circumstances. They help children explore the root causes of their depression, develop coping mechanisms, and promote positive behaviors and thought patterns to enhance emotional well-being.
EMDR therapy can be utilized for adolescents aged 14 and above to treat trauma, PTSD and anxiety. During EMDR sessions, our therapists guide the child through distressing memories while incorporating bilateral stimulation to help the child reprocess traumatic experiences and reduce emotional distress.
Counselling with an education consulting focus involves working with children, parents, and educators to address academic challenges and learning difficulties. Our therapists conduct assessments, develop personalized educational plans, and offer strategies to support the child’s academic success and emotional growth, so that a growth mindset can be fostered in the children regarding their academic abilities.
Our experienced giftedness therapists can implement giftedness assessments to evaluate the intellectual, creative, and academic abilities of children aged 6 and above. Furthermore, they can offer guidance to parents and educators to meet the unique needs of gifted children, and provide appropriate support for potential challenges.
Counselling incorporating goal setting helps children identify specific objectives and create actionable plans to achieve them. Therapists assist children in breaking down large goals into manageable steps, monitor progress, and provide positive reinforcement for accomplishments.
Our mindfulness child therapy incorporates mindfulness and meditation practices to help children develop present-moment awareness and emotional regulation. Our therapists teach mindfulness techniques such as breathing exercises and guided meditation to promote focus, relaxation, and emotional well-being individually and in group settings.
Therapy for children experiencing family separation or divorce provides emotional support and coping strategies to help them navigate the changes in their family dynamics. Our psychotherapists help children process their feelings, ensure they feel loved, supported, heard, and understood within their family, and adapt to the new family dynamics.
In trauma therapy, we help children process their traumatic experiences, manage distressing emotions, and develop resilience. Our therapists use evidence-based interventions such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to promote healing and restore a sense of safety and stability.
