Strengthen Your Flexible Mindset
The difference between a flexible and a growth mindset is subtle but significant. Therefore, we support you in challenging your existing mindset to cultivate a more beneficial and constructive perspective, leading you to become more successful in your personal or professional life.
A flexible mindset is the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and situations. People with a flexible mindset are open to new ideas and perspectives and are willing to change their approach when faced with obstacles. They are comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty and can adjust their plans and strategies as needed.
On the other hand, growth mindset is the belief that one’s abilities and intelligence can be developed through hard work, dedication, and perseverance. People with a growth mindset see challenges as opportunities to learn and grow, and they are not afraid to make mistakes because they understand that failure is a natural part of the learning process. They are open to feedback and are willing to put in the effort to improve.
While both mindsets are valuable, a growth mindset focuses more on personal development and self-improvement, while a flexible mindset focuses more on adapting to external circumstances. However, having both mindsets can be beneficial, as they complement each other and help individuals navigate challenges and achieve their goals. Therefore, depending on each individual’s personality and circumstances, we work with them where they are and support them in working on their mindsets.
Individual Therapy
You can choose, or we can recommend a therapist, either in-person or online, that best fits an individual’s needs, personality, and culture based on their training or experience. The process involves one-on-one interaction between our qualified registered therapist and you or your loved one. The objective of this therapeutic modality is to provide a secure and supportive environment for the client to explore their thoughts, feelings, and actions, as well as to work through issues that may be causing distress or impeding their daily life.
Our therapists employ a range of therapeutic techniques and approaches tailored to each individual’s specific needs and preferences. Depending on the concern, these approaches can include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, EMDR, Mindfulness-based therapy, and other evidence-based interventions.
Group Therapy
Recent research and our experience emphasize the importance of group therapy in enhancing treatment outcomes through its ability to foster a sense of community support and shared understanding among participants. Group therapy has been shown to reduce feelings of isolation and stigma while also providing opportunities for peer support and encouragement.
Group therapy facilitates deeper insights, greater self-awareness, and more sustainable behavioural changes by creating a collaborative environment where individuals can explore their challenges together. Individuals can benefit from group sessions, as they can share and learn from others who have experienced similar types of challenges and experiences, which in turn create self-awareness and provide other perspectives.
Our Psychotherapy Services
(Services available individually or in a group setting)
There is no singular approach or treatment for adaptation or adjustment to create change. However, there are different techniques that professional registered psychotherapists can use to support individuals going through these challenging times in a more balanced and helpful way.
Some examples of challenging life circumstances are immigration, marriage or divorce, loss of a job and other circumstances that can cause individuals to experience stress, anxiety, depression, gain or loss of weight, and others.
Our therapeutic approaches enable our clients to learn new and better coping mechanisms that can help them adjust better to the difficult life circumstances they are facing and prepare them for positive change.
As psychotherapy, there are various ways we can help treat anxiety. It starts with building a trusting relationship with the patient so that they feel comfortable enough to share their deepest fears and worries with us.
Firstly, we can help clients identify the root causes of their anxiety. This can involve exploring their personal history, current stressors, and environmental factors that may be contributing to their anxiety. With the help of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), we can help clients build coping mechanisms and techniques to reduce the severity of their anxiety symptoms.
Secondly, we can use (EMDR) Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, a very effective treatment approach for treating anxiety and reducing the symptoms.
Thirdly, we can provide psycho-education to patients about anxiety, its symptoms, and ways to manage it. We can also discuss the various treatment options available, including medication, relaxation techniques, and other self-help strategies.
Overall, our counsellors offer a holistic approach to the treatment of anxiety, which includes addressing the psychological, physical and social factors that contribute to its development. By offering a combination of therapy techniques, coping mechanisms, and education, we can help clients manage and overcome their anxiety.
Our assertiveness workshops help individuals become more confident, assertive, and empowered in their personal and professional relationships, leading to improved communication, healthier boundaries, and greater self-respect.
Our workshops are designed to help individuals learn the skills and techniques needed to express their thoughts, feelings, and opinions in a clear and confident manner while respecting other people’s rights and boundaries. Our psychotherapists teach skills that enable individuals to be assertive in different social situations, including conflict resolution, negotiation, and emotion management.
We teach participants how to identify the signs of passive or aggressive communication, build self-esteem, practice mindfulness, and manage stress and anxiety.
Audience includes the public, from youths to adults.
Couples and family therapy is a type of therapy that is aimed at helping couples and families get closer to one another, resolve conflicts, identify core Issues, improve communication, and strengthen their relationship.
We work with couples or families to help them identify core issues and develop effective coping strategies for resolving their differences and conflicts. Psychotherapists can act as mediators, helping to facilitate communication and understanding between partners or family members.
Our psychotherapists help individuals identify and pursue their educational and career goals. We support clients in this area by providing guidance, assessment, and support to help them make informed decisions about their education and career paths. It involves helping clients assess their abilities, interests, and values, exploring options and opportunities, developing a plan of action, and providing ongoing support throughout the process. Additionally, our psychotherapists will address any personal or emotional issues that may be impacting a client’s education or career goals, and help them develop specific coping strategies, to manage any associated stress or anxiety.
Depression can be a debilitating condition that affects an individual’s mental health and well-being.
We support our clients process their emotions and develop coping strategies to manage their symptoms. Through therapy, we help individuals understand the root cause of their depression and work towards addressing those underlying issues. By offering practical tools and techniques, we help our clients better manage their symptoms.
We tailor our approach according to each client’s unique needs and circumstances, focusing on their individual strengths, challenges, and goals.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful therapeutic tool that a therapist named Dr. Francine Shapiro developed in the early 1990s to treat PTSD. EMDR is best known for its effectiveness in helping people who suffer from anxiety or distressing memories, nightmares, insomnia, abuse, or other traumatic events. Whether those traumas were large or small, EMDR quickly helps clients come to peace with what happened.
Research shows that eye movement somehow liberates the natural healing process to reverse such effects. It seems that eye movement stimulates the neurochemical communication between the two hemispheres of the brain, which results in the trauma no longer containing the negative emotional charge that was initially associated with it. Research on EMDR has been extensive and well-conducted; for Further Information about EMDR, please visit https://www.emdr.com
Individuals with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can benefit greatly from the support of a therapist. Our psychotherapists can provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals can process their emotions and experiences related to their trauma so that they can understand their own experiences and normalize their feelings.
Depending on each individual case, our psychotherapists use different therapeutic approaches for support. For instance, EMDR to process traumatic memories using eye movements, CBT, and Trauma-Informed Practice.
Our therapists will teach their clients strategies to manage intrusive thoughts and nightmares and help them develop a safety plan in case of flashbacks or panic attacks.
Through education, coping skills, and evidence-based therapies, we can provide the support individuals need to heal and move forward from their traumas.
Individuals who are going through a separation or divorce may experience a range of emotions such as anger, sadness, grief, guilt or even relief. Our counsellors will listen, empathize, and provide a non-judgmental and supportive environment for the individual to talk about their feelings and to help them navigate through the difficult process they are going through. Whether their goal is going back and working on their relationship with their partners or separating from them, we are here to offer them clinical support.
We also help individuals develop coping strategies to manage stress and anxiety and facilitate communication between both parties.
Lastly, our psychotherapists can assist individuals in transitioning to a new chapter of their life, whether it be a time of adjustment for the individual or a chance to explore new opportunities and personal growth.
Trauma can be caused by a range of events, such as physical or emotional abuse, natural disasters, accidents, and more. Trauma can have negative effects on an individual’s mental and physical health, relationships, and overall well-being. Our psychotherapists support individuals who are experiencing trauma by teaching them coping skills to work through the trauma. They can also help individuals build resilience, encourage them to perform regular self-care, and support them throughout their healing process.
